Bath re-enamelling at your home in The Meadows
We don’t move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the following day. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and several chips and rust patches, across acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Repair dripping taps early
- Get any chip repaired quickly
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Should you replace it?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is normally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a full day. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Make sure the area is dry

What else we do in The Meadows
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Send photos for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in The Meadows, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Landlord and trade work in The Meadows
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
