About our bath re-enamelling in Toronto

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Whether it’s staining under the taps and around the waste and wear marks under the taps, we can help, on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Toronto questions

Do you come to Toronto?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Toronto and the rest of County Durham. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back. There is no obligation to book.

Repair or replace in Toronto?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Toronto. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

When to call us in Toronto

Frequently the bath has just had decades of use, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Before booking anyone

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

10 questions to ask before booking

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Respect the curing time we give you

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match

Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
