Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

How quickly can you book me in?

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Warfield Park

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Whether it’s enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can generally put it right, on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Most clients in Warfield Park get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

Should you replace it?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Have chips seen to early

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes the best part of a day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

Advice

When to call us in Warfield Park

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

What to look for in a quote

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How to care for the finish
  • Who will actually do the work

10 questions to ask before booking

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
