About our bath re-enamelling in Woodlands
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the day after. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths, and common reasons people get in touch are wear marks under the taps and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Woodlands questions
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Woodlands included. There is no extra charge for travel.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Woodlands?
Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
What do you need from me?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.
Will the bath be moved?
No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
- How much damage there is
- The type of damage
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed price
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One picture of the entire bath
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.
For landlords and businesses
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Should you replace it?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Repair dripping taps early
- Never use suction bath mats
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
