Bath re-enamelling in Highfields without replacing anything
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Our repair technicians work on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people get in touch are thin, worn enamel in places and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

How the visit works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Have a window or extractor fan available
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Highfields questions
What areas do you cover?
We cover the whole UK, including Highfields and the rest of Doncaster. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Doncaster.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.
What happens after I send pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Highfields
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

When to call us in Highfields
Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- Lots of chips and rust spots
What to look for in a quote
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- What preparation is included
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Access to the area
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Getting a price from photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- A picture taken from further back
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Natural light rather than flash
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Have chips seen to early
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
