Bath repair at your home in Aberbargoed

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Typical jobs include chips along the edge of the bath and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, across roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Common problems we fix in Aberbargoed

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, with dropped shower heads close behind. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

Common reasons people in Aberbargoed contact us are:

  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips on the rim or sides

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How to care for the finish
  • What happens if they find more damage

What we can’t put right

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Aberbargoed: your questions answered

Is a bath repair permanent?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Most baths can be used the day after. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What kind of damage it is

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.
