Bath repair at your home in Achurch
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. We’re often asked to fix rusty patches near the plughole and chips under the taps, on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Prices start from £95. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

How the visit works
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, depending on the damage.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
How to get a price

Advice
Your questions about bath repair in Achurch
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, so Achurch is covered. Prices do not change with location.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you come to Achurch?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Achurch and the rest of Northamptonshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Achurch. The price reflects:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How much damage there is
- Unusual colours or finishes
- What kind of damage it is
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Send pictures for a quote
Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
- A photo taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Rinse it down after each bath
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
When we would advise against a repair
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
For landlords and businesses
For anyone letting property in or around Achurch, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Northamptonshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
