About our bath repair in Adderbury
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Common call-outs are for damage beneath the taps and holes from dropped items, on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Adderbury and across Northamptonshire.

Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Adderbury as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What affects the price in Adderbury
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The colour and finish to match
- How much damage there is
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A picture taken from further back
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
What your bath is made of matters
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Repair or replace in Adderbury?
Replacing a fitted bath generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

The process
From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
How to prepare
- Make sure the area is dry
- Let us know about parking or access
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Related advice
What a repair cannot fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
Aftercare tips
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
