Bath repair for Algarkirk homes

About our bath repair in Algarkirk

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. Whether it’s damage beneath the taps and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, we can typically put it right, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

Algarkirk questions

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Algarkirk and the rest of Lincolnshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Do you work in Algarkirk?

We do. Technicians travel to Algarkirk from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • One visit for most repairs

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How it works

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Open a window if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Advice

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Algarkirk. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. Try to include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

When to call us in Algarkirk

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, with dropped shower heads close behind. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
