Need bath repair in Beam Park?

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

How we handle bath repair in Beam Park

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. If you are dealing with scuffs and scratches in the surface and chips under the taps, we can generally put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Beam Park

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What your quote should include

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How the room is protected while they work

How to compare quotes

Beam Park: your questions answered

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Typically. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Beam Park use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
