Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
How we handle bath repair in Beech
Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Our technicians work on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and damage beneath the taps.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Beech as everywhere else we work.

Common problems we fix in Beech
Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- A chipped rim or side
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Chips under the taps

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Beech. The price depends on:
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What the surface is made of
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from photos
Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Something in shot to show the size
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Repairing versus replacing in Beech
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one typically means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Why us?
- Same prices wherever you are
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Questions from Beech
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
What do you need from me?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of Stoke-on-Trent. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Keeping it looking good
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
How the visit works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Open a window if you can
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
How to get a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.
