Bath repair for Bisbrooke homes

Bath repair at your home in Bisbrooke

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. If you are dealing with chips on the rim or sides and snagging damage from a refit, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Repair or replace in Bisbrooke?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Typically it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Bisbrooke clients choose us

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Bisbrooke. What changes the price is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Bisbrooke: your questions answered

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access

Ask for a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Related advice

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Signs you need bath repair in Bisbrooke

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

Comparing quotes

  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
