About our bath repair in Bletchley

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Common call-outs are for scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust by the waste and overflow, in cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Bletchley and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A chipped rim or side
  • A cracked acrylic bath

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who turns up on the day
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the price covers travel

Our hiring checklist

Your questions about bath repair in Bletchley

Do you cover the whole of Milton Keynes?

Across the UK, and that includes Bletchley. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Will the repair show?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes two to three hours for most chips, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
