Bath repair in Boughspring, done in place

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Our repair technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are chips along the edge of the bath and cracks in an acrylic bath.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Do you need bath repair in Boughspring?

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Chips caused by builders
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

Choosing a repair company

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Honest limits

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repair or replace in Boughspring?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why Boughspring customers choose us

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Everything repaired in place

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

The process

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

How to get a price

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
