Bath repair in Bradwall, done in place
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Whether it’s rusty patches near the plughole and chips caused by builders, we can help, whatever the material.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Bradwall as everywhere else we work.

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How hard the colour is to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How many areas need work
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- Details of any past repairs
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The material, if you know it
- One sharp close-up of the damage
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Why repair rather than replace?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

Aftercare tips
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Have new chips seen to early
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Rinse it down after each bath
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Bradwall questions
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Frequently, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
When we’d advise against a repair
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cheshire East and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
How the visit works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours. The room is left tidy.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
