Bath chip & crack repair in Bredwardine, Herefordshire
We travel to Bredwardine for chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths. Nothing is taken out, with a one-year guarantee.
- Repairs from £95
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips on the rim or sides

How to look after the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Rinse it down after each bath
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
Bath repair at your home in Bredwardine
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, typically in a single visit. We work on cast iron enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are impact holes in acrylic and cracks in an acrylic bath.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Herefordshire.

Bredwardine questions
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Can you quote from pictures?
Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

How the visit works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have a window or extractor fan available
How to get a price
Email us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your HR3 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Bredwardine as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
What you get with us

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
What we are called out for in Bredwardine
A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Damage beneath the taps
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Chips caused by builders
- Deep scratches in acrylic
What your quote should include
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- How the room is protected while they work
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether we combine several jobs
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from pictures
You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One picture of the whole bath
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
