Bath repair in Moccas

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Bath repair in Moccas, done in place

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. If you’re dealing with a hole punched through by something heavy and chips caused by builders, we can help, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Your questions about bath repair in Moccas

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Moccas. What changes the price is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

Signs you need bath repair in Moccas

Rust typically starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • A chip where the taps sit

Questions to ask before booking

  • When it can be used again
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What happens if they find more damage

Choosing a repair company

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

Related advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Take a look at our full price list or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
