About our bath repair in Bromley
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, usually in a single visit. Common call-outs are for chips along the edge of the bath and impact holes in acrylic, across roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Signs you need bath repair in Bromley
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, with dropped shower heads close behind. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
The things clients typically mention when they call include:
- A chipped rim or side
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- A chip where the taps sit

DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
When a repair is not the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair

What we do, step by step
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Repair or replace: which is better?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Bromley. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why Bromley customers choose us

For landlords and businesses
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Bromley questions
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Do you cover Bromley?
We do. We send a technician to Bromley for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
How long before I can use the bath?
Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.
Will the price change on the day?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
