Bath repair near Broughton

Bath repair in Broughton, done in place

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Typical jobs include chips under the taps and a hole punched through by something heavy, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Broughton. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • The material
  • How many areas need work

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

FAQs for Broughton

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Broughton included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What we cannot put right

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

When to call us in Broughton

A cracked acrylic bath normally wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until it cracks.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

10 questions to ask before you book

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Getting a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
