Bath repair in Cameron Bridge

About our bath repair in Cameron Bridge

Repairing baths is what we do most. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Whether it’s scratches you can feel with a fingernail and damage beneath the taps, we can usually put it right.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Fife.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Cameron Bridge

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Should you replace it?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Read our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Cameron Bridge. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The material, if you know it

To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cameron Bridge

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Questions from Cameron Bridge

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Are there extra charges for Cameron Bridge?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you cover the whole of Fife?

Everywhere in the UK, Cameron Bridge included. Travel is included in the price.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.
