Need bath repair in Carisbrooke?

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Carisbrooke. What changes the price is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • Access to the area

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Bath repair in Carisbrooke, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Common call-outs are for scratches you can feel with a fingernail and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Carisbrooke as everywhere else we work.

Should you replace it?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Landlord and trade work in Carisbrooke

If you manage property in Carisbrooke, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
