Bath repair in Carmel, done in place
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and impact holes in acrylic, in roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

What a repair can’t fix
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Carmel. The price depends on:
- Access to the area
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material and finish
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send pictures for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One picture of the entire bath
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- What it’s made of, if you know
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
Landlord and trade work in Carmel
For anyone letting property in or around Carmel, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Questions from Carmel
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.
Is a bath repair durable?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
How much does bath repair cost in Carmel?
Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.
Will the repair show?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Have new chips seen to early
Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Common problems we fix in Carmel
Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.
Look out for any of the following:
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
What your quote should include
- What happens if they find more damage
- What aftercare is recommended
- How the colour is matched
- How the room is protected while they work
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, usually by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
Preparing for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
How to get a price
