About our bath repair in Castle Kennedy

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the day after. If you are dealing with deep scratches in acrylic and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can typically put it right, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repair or replace in Castle Kennedy?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

FAQs for Castle Kennedy

Do you work in Castle Kennedy?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Castle Kennedy. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Signs you need bath repair in Castle Kennedy

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

Landlord and trade work in Castle Kennedy

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
