Bath repair at your home in Chivenor
We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. All of it is repaired where the bath stands with a one-year guarantee. Our repair technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and common reasons people contact us are chips under the taps and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
Should you replace it?
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What a repair cannot fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- A steel bath rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we are called out for in Chivenor
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Rust by the waste and overflow
Before you book anyone

- How soon you can use it again

Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Your questions about bath repair in Chivenor
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.
How much does bath repair cost in Chivenor?
Prices start from £95. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Often, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What happens on the day
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price
