About our bath repair in Clifton
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s deep scratches in acrylic and chips on the rim or sides, we can help, whatever the material.

Repair or replace in Clifton?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
What we’re called out for in Clifton
A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
- Rust by the waste and overflow
What your quote should include
- What prep work is covered
- How the colour is matched
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- What protection goes down before work starts
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Send photos for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:
- Where you are, by postcode
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
The process
We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take a few hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Related advice
Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
Clifton questions
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.
Will I be able to see the repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.
Do you cover Clifton?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Clifton and the rest of Calderdale. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Will the repair last?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
