Bath repair for Cousland homes

Bath repair in Cousland without replacing anything

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and people most frequently call us about a cracked acrylic bath and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What we cannot put right

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Have new chips seen to early

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Cousland. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Natural light rather than flash

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.

What we are called out for in Cousland

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price covers travel

Our hiring checklist

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

What do you need from me?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Can you repair several things at once?

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How much does bath repair cost in Cousland?

Repair or replace in Cousland?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
