Bath repair at your home in Davidson's Mains

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are rust spots around the plughole and chips under the taps.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

What affects the price in Davidson's Mains

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

For a price in Davidson's Mains, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Davidson's Mains

If you manage property in Davidson's Mains, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes two to three hours for most chips, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

FAQs for Davidson's Mains

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Are there extra charges for Davidson's Mains?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, generally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Repairing versus replacing in Davidson's Mains

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
