How we handle bath repair in Duncton

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for rust spots around the plughole and a cracked acrylic bath, in whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Duncton: your questions answered

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Typically. Send us a photo of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Repair or replace in Duncton?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Landlord and trade work in Duncton

For anyone letting property in or around Duncton, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

When to call us in Duncton

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Questions to ask before booking

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether they match the colour on site
