What happens on the day
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit

- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Should you replace it?
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
- How many items we do on one visit
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for East Lavant. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A photo taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your PO18 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
When a repair is not the answer
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
How to look after the repair
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
