Bath repair in East Village

Bath repair at your home in East Village

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Whether it’s deep scratches in acrylic and a chip where the taps sit, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

FAQs for East Village

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover East Village?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to East Village and the rest of Greater London. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Greater London.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from pictures

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Do you need bath repair in East Village?

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Chips caused by builders

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Choosing a repair company

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Related advice

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
