Common questions in Edgwick

Do you work in Edgwick?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Edgwick. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Do you cover the entire of Coventry?

We work UK-wide, so Edgwick is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Coventry.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Bath repair at your home in Edgwick

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for rusty patches near the plughole and a chipped rim or side, in pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

If you manage property in Edgwick, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

How to care for the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Rinse it down after each bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Usually it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why book with us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • A fixed quote before booking

Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
