FAQs for Farnley Tyas
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
What happens next?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
What does bath repair cost?
Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
Will the repair last?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Farnley Tyas included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Bath repair at your home in Farnley Tyas
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the following day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are cracks in an acrylic bath and damage beneath the taps.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What happens on the day
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Rinse it down after each bath
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:
- Any details about the material
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your HD4 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
What a repair can’t fix
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Should you replace it?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
