Bath repair at your home in Ferndown

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. Common call-outs are for snagging damage from a refit and a kit repair that didn’t last, across roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What we are called out for in Ferndown

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Clients normally contact us about:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

10 questions to ask before you book

Ferndown: your questions answered

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you cover Ferndown?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Ferndown for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Ferndown. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material
  • Details of any past repairs

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

How it works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we work on in Ferndown

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repair or replace: which is better?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

See our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ferndown

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ferndown use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
