Bath repair at your home in Garstang
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Typical jobs include a kit repair that didn’t last and chips caused by builders, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Your questions about bath repair in Garstang
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Do you cover the whole of Lancashire?
All of Lancashire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Do you come to Garstang?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Garstang and the rest of Lancashire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
When we’d advise against a repair
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we work on in Garstang

How to look after the repair
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move until the acrylic gives way.

Advice
Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Why repair rather than replace?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.
