Bath repair in Georgetown without replacing anything

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. You can generally use the bath the day after. If you are dealing with impact holes in acrylic and chips on the rim or sides, we can help, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Georgetown as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Keeping it looking good

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

There’s nothing special to do after a repair. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Common problems we fix in Georgetown

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Chips caused by builders
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Rust spots around the plughole

Before you book anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How the room is protected while they work

Choosing a repair company

Common questions in Georgetown

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What happens after I send pictures?

We come back with a fixed price. There’s no obligation to book.

How much does bath repair cost in Georgetown?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes two to three hours for most chips. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
