How we handle bath repair in Grazeley
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can generally use the bath the following day. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Your questions about bath repair in Grazeley
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
What happens after I send pictures?
You’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Will the repair show?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Do you cover the whole of West Berkshire?
We cover the entire UK, including Grazeley and the rest of West Berkshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.
Will the price change on the day?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Repair or replace in Grazeley?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
What happens on the day
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

What affects the price in Grazeley
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The material and finish
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Getting a price from pictures
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- Details of any past repairs
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
To get a price, send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

What a repair cannot fix
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- A steel bath rusted through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

For landlords and businesses
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
How to look after the repair
It’s all simple stuff:
- Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Store metal items away from the bath
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.
