Bath repair in Gressingham without replacing anything
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Common call-outs are for snagging damage from a refit and a chipped rim or side, in roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What we cannot put right
We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

What affects the price in Gressingham
Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Gressingham. The price depends on:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Doing more than one item at once
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Your questions about bath repair in Gressingham
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Will the repair last?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
How do I book?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Lancashire.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Typically, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
Looking after it afterwards
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
How the visit works
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Make sure the area is dry
Ask for a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
