Bath repair in Hanger Hill

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Any details about the material

Most customers in Hanger Hill get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Bath repair in Hanger Hill without replacing anything

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Typical jobs include a hole punched through by something heavy and snagging damage from a refit, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What happens on the day

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Repair or replace: which is better?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Usually it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Normally one visit, start to finish

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
