How bath repair works in W5
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We’re often asked to fix a hole punched through by something heavy and rust spots around the plughole, on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Cost
Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.
What you get with us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Honest advice, even when it means no job

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material
- Doing more than one item at once
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- Details of any past repairs
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
Repairing versus replacing
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes.
What your quote should include
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- Aftercare advice
- How your room will be protected
Signs you need bath repair
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until it cracks.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
W5 questions
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK, including W5 and the rest of Greater London. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
