Need bath repair in Hardley?

Bath repair in Hardley without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. If you’re dealing with scratches you can feel with a fingernail and chips caused by builders, we can usually put it right.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Repair or replace in Hardley?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

When to call us in Hardley

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

How to compare quotes

Hardley: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

What happens after I send photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Are there extra charges for Hardley?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Hardley. What changes the price is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A picture taken from further back

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.
