Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

About our bath repair in Eastleigh

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Whether it’s rusty patches near the plughole and impact holes in acrylic, we can generally put it right, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel alike.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Eastleigh as everywhere else we work.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips. We leave the room clean.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

FAQs for Eastleigh

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

What affects the price in Eastleigh

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Eastleigh. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Getting a price from photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

When to call us in Eastleigh

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What to look for in a quote
