Bath repair in Harworth

About our bath repair in Harworth

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people contact us are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust by the waste and overflow.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What we are called out for in Harworth

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before booking

Landlords, agents and businesses in Harworth

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

When we would advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A steel bath rusted through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Harworth. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why book with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We leave the room as we found it

Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Common questions in Harworth

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
