Bath repair in Hatchford End

Bath repair in Hatchford End without replacing anything

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for a cracked acrylic bath and rust spots around the plughole, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Do you need bath repair in Hatchford End?

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Look out for these signs:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • When it can be used again
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included

Common questions in Hatchford End

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Are there extra charges for Hatchford End?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Surrey. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The type of damage

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

What a repair can’t fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
