Bath repair for Henbury homes

About our bath repair in Henbury

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Typical jobs include scuffs and scratches in the surface and chips under the taps, across pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. Once it has cured, usually by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Ask for a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Your questions about bath repair in Henbury

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Do you work in Henbury?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Henbury for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Henbury as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Repair or replace in Henbury?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
