Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Our repair technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people get in touch are holes from dropped items and rusty patches near the plughole.

FAQs for High Dyke
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
How long before I can use the bath?
Generally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of County Durham. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Work for landlords and builders
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
When a repair isn’t the answer
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a fitted bath generally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Why book with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- We leave the room as we found it
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
How to get a fixed price
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- The material, if you know it
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
What happens on the day
We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a few hours. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Clear the area around the damage
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Getting a price
To get a price, send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
