Need bath repair in Horns Green?

Repair or replace in Horns Green?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

How we handle bath repair in Horns Green

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We’re frequently asked to fix a chipped rim or side and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

When we would advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

When to call us in Horns Green

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price
