Bath repair near Hurstpierpoint

Bath repair in Hurstpierpoint, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can usually bathe again the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are impact holes in acrylic and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Read our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in West Sussex and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A photo taken from further back

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
