Bath repair in King's Dyke without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our technicians work on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and a cracked acrylic bath.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

Landlords, agents and businesses in King's Dyke

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cambridgeshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Questions from King's Dyke

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Usually. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

When to call us in King's Dyke

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Chips under the taps
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

Questions to ask before you book

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How to care for the finish
  • How your room will be protected

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why King's Dyke customers choose us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Same prices wherever you are

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
