About our bath repair in Lambeth
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We regularly repair acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and holes from dropped items.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Greater London and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
What a repair cannot fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
Lambeth questions
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can tenants book a repair?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
Ask for a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Related advice
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Lambeth. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Send pictures for a quote
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. Try to include:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A picture taken from further back
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Repair or replace: which is better?
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
