About our bath repair in Lamport
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. If you are dealing with a kit repair that didn’t last and scuffs and scratches in the surface, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel alike.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Your questions about bath repair in Lamport
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Often, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Are you accredited?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
What does bath repair cost?
Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes, very often. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Can tenants book a repair?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The colour and finish to match
- What the surface is made of
- What kind of damage it is
- The size and number of damaged areas
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Any details about the material
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Repair or replace: which is better?
People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Typically it does not: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

The process
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Getting a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
